Ishikawa Motomori (石川元盛)

Motomori ISHIKAWA (year of birth unknown - July 5, 1307) was a busho (Japanese military commander) in the Kamakura period. He was the 10th family head of the Mutsu Ishikawa clan, which follows Yamato-Genji (Minamoto clan). He was the second son of Mitsunaga ISHIKAWA. He was the father of Moriyoshi ISHIKAWA, Mitsuyoshi, Yoshisuke, Yoshihira, and so on. He filled a post of Jugoinoge (Junior Fifth Rank, Lower Grade) Yamato no kami (the governor of Yamato Province). His wife was a daughter of Mitsumori ASHINA.

His childhood name was Senmatsumaru and was renamed to Motomori after his coming of age.

In August 1291, he was granted an audience with the shogun Prince Hisaaki by regent Sadatoki HOJO. He went up to Kyoto to enter the imperial court and was appointed to Jugoinoge (Junior Fifth Rank, Lower Grade) Yamato no kami (the governor of Yamato Province).
